Hello, and thanks for visiting our site. We’re a small kennel located in Sandston Virginia. We train and breed AKC / OFA German Shepherds that have exceptional show and working pedigrees from Germany (BATU, TROMPETERSPRUNG, HOLTKAMPER, MITTELWEST) and the Czech Republic (JIPO-ME, POHRANICNI STRRAZE, DVORA, ANREBRI). We are devoted to training our dogs and strive to improve their breed through structure, intelligence and temperament. Our dogs are healthy, smart, athletic and easy to train. They are Obedience titled, Canine Good Citizens and continue to work on tracking and protection work. Our puppies are well socialized and raised around children and other animals. They also receive constant mental stimulation and are handled daily.
I retired from the army in 1995 and lived in Germany for nine years. As a Cavalry Scout, I spent a lot of time patrolling the East/West German Border during the cold war. While there, I was exposed to many German Shepherds that were used by the Zoll, Bundesgrenzschutz and Polizei. I was intrigued by their training techniques and tactics. I formally started obedience and protection training in 1987 with my German Rottweiler Bear. However, my love of German Shepherds really started in 1972 at the age of 12 when I had my very first one. After the army, I served in Law Enforcement for twenty years. My spouse is also a dog lover and while she helps with the German Shepherds, her heart belongs to our beloved Border Collie / Australian Shepherd family dog, Cody.
Our dogs are loved family members and they interact with us everyday. Although we do have kennels, none of our dogs live in them permanently. However, when necessary we do use them for containment. We live on an old family farm, not to far from the battlefield of Cold Harbor with several horses. Here, our dogs have plenty of room to explore, play and train. They also enjoy cooling off in the pond during the dog days of summer.
